Riley works with children (age 6+), teens, adults, partners, and families.

Riley is an LGBTQIA2+ affirming, culturally-responsive counsellor with over 15 years of experience working with children and youth in a variety of roles and community settings.

For the last 10 years she has worked as a classroom arts education teacher. Most recently she completed a practicum placement at a community agency in Regina, Saskatchewan where she provided counselling services to diverse clients ranging in age from childhood through late adulthood. 

Her therapeutic approach is based on the fundamental belief that people acquire skills through lived experiences that can be used to navigate life’s challenges and can also learn new skills to help manage challenges more effectively.   

Using tools from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), somatic experiencing, arts- and play-based therapy, and mindfulness. Riley works collaboratively to help you discover the skills you have, grow the skills you need, and cultivate the life you want.  

In her spare time, Riley enjoys spending time with her family, going to concerts, baking, knitting, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Alexis works with adults (age 18+)

Alexis is a small-town Saskatchewan girl. She is a Social Worker with Registered Saskatchewan and Canadian designations. She has worked in Social Work since 2004. Alexis has a strong connection working with children, youth, adults, seniors; and over the past several years specializing in services coaching other professionals and leading professional teams. She was drawn to areas of healing, identification, connection and positive acceptance. This led her to specialize and become an accredited Therapist in 8 different therapy modalities. This allows her a vast toolbox of experience and technique to share with you.

Her approach is simple yet profound— connecting with real people in our community to provide perspective, collaboration, and compassion. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, stuck in cycles, or facing unexpected challenges, she is here to help you find clarity, acceptance, and commitment to yourself. Together, we’ll develop the steps, goals, and tools you need to move forward confidently into your future.

Caitlin works with children (age 0+), adults, partners, and families.

Caitlin was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. Caitlin completed her Bachelor of Social Work in 2016 and has over 8 years experience working with children, youth, parents and families. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.

Caitlin is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work through the University of Calgary with a clinical specialization. She describes her practice as integrative; pulling skills from a wide range of modalities. Caitlin is most interested in working with children, families, couples, and both children and adults who have experienced trauma. Caitlin has received her Level 1 Theraplay Certificate, is trained to complete Developmental ASQ and DSP assessments for children 0-7 years old, and is currently completing Gottman’s Level 1 and 2 Training for working with couples.

In her spare time you can find Caitlin designing wedding florals or spending time out at the farm with her family!

Kristen works with adults and partners.

Kristen has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years in both Saskatchewan and Alberta, and has spent the last 8 years working in a clinical counselling role with a large public-facing organization.

Kristen believes that each individuals experience is unique, and every person has the ability to make lasting change when provided the right environment and opportunity. While rooted in humanistic therapy, Kristen utilizes an integrative and holistic approach when working with clients. This means she pulls from different modalities and schools of thought to best support her clients in meeting their therapeutic goals.

In her spare time you can find Kristen spending time with her family, trying new recipes, or relaxing at the lake!

Camila Vargas, BSW

Camila works with children and youth (age 8-16) and adults with a feminine spirit.

Camila was born in Colombia and has been in Regina since she was 12 years old. She is a registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers who completed her Bachelor of Social Work in 2015. Throughout her practice, she has had the opportunity to work with children, youth, adults and seniors impacted directly or indirectly by unhealthy coping behaviours and/or other mental health concerns. Her professional background has led her to have ample experience with client-centred framework, child-caregiver relationship dynamics, trauma-informed care, strength-based, and solution-focused approaches.

As part of her professional growth, Camila provides a safe space for her clients by including the arts as a crucial part of expression. Camila is starting her journey as an Expressive Arts Practitioner as she continues to work towards her Master of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy. Camila believes that using different art modalities such as visual arts, music, movement, play, drama, and writing allows us to express feelings, emotions and thoughts that might be difficult to describe through verbal communication. She wants to share and guide you through artistic creations that do not require artistic skills for you to take part in.

Marcia Shelstad, MEd

Marcia works with children (age 10+), teens, and adults.

Marcia is a Certified Counsellor who also holds a Masters of Educational Psychology/Counselling, as well as a Bachelor of Education Degree, with a specialty in Special Education. She has worked as a Middle years/Jr. high teacher for 25 years and continues to do so. Her counselling experience ranges from middle years kids to teens, as well as young adults and adults.

As a therapist, Marcia’s style is down to earth, strength-based, collaborative and non-judgmental. She adheres to empowering clients through inclusivity, through trauma-informed and culturally sensitive therapies. Her goal is to offer a warm, welcoming environment in which clients can feel safe and work towards self-compassion and resilience.

Marcia grew up in the country and has been working in the Regina area for most of her adult life. She is the mother of two grown children, who have provided her with experience with children through all stages of growth. She is very passionate about animals and continues to be involved in rescues and the welfare of all animals.
